Mid-City Arts Presents: Chaka

If you grew up in LA in the 80’s and 90’s, and one point or another, you tagged.  Whether you had a crew that went on late night bombings, or if you kept that shit in your notebook, we’ve all been influenced by the graffiti culture.

And at the root of it, the legendary Chaka

He is credited with breaking away from the New York “wildstyle” popular at the time and introducing clearer, more blockish lettering into tagging. Chaka was one of the first to create a reputation as a recognizable individual tagger, and spawned many imitators.

Tomorrow night (April 25th) from 7-9pm, Mid-City Arts Gallery is hosting Chaka’s first solo show Resurrection.  He’ll be there shaking hands and signing limited edition posters.

SF3 is the most good series to happen to fighting arcade gamesno doubt, if we didn’t have it I think the genre might disappear…Not that I dont like other games, I just believe street fighter is in the hearts of the people most of all.
